Stuttgart, Germany – July 15, 2015 – Impulse Dynamics, part of The Hobart Group, announced today the first implantation of its Optimizer IVs device in Australia, showing global growth of its innovative technology.  The Optimizer IVs is a minimally invasive implantable device designed to treat Chronic Heart Failure (CHF). It has already been successfully launched in Europe and is available in cardiology centers in various countries. CCM therapy has been implanted in over 2500 patients to date and is the only device therapy available for patients with narrow QRS complex.

Dr. P Arunothayaraj commented: “I am very happy to provide the Optimizer system for my patients in Australia. Especially as this new therapy addresses unmet clinical needs in patients with Chronic Heart Failure with Narrow QRS Complex. I would like to thank the Univ. Hospital Mannheim and its Cardiology Department, led by Prof. Martin Borggrefe, for the great support”.

“We are very pleased to be able to provide the CCM therapy, delivered by the Optimizer device, to patients in Australia” said Shlomo Ben-Haim, founder of The Hobart Group, and co-founder of Impulse Dynamics. “We are committed to demonstrating the value of the CCM therapy for patients and the healthcare systems globally and are working closely with physicians and their teams to achieve this goal.”

The device is based on novel Cardiac Contractility Modulation (CCM) technology. The implantation took place at the “Peninsula Private Hospital” by Dr. P Arunothayaraj, Consultant Cardiologist of the Cardiology Department in Frankston, Victoria. Impulse Dynamics has completed a vast number of clinical studies, including several randomized controlled trials. The results have been published in over 60 publications in leading medical journals. The Optimizer system is limited to Investigational use only in the United States.
